After graduating form the University Of Missouri School Of Journalism, Tamra moved to Kansas city to begin her career in media.  She spent several years as an account executive in radio and television.  Tamra moved on from an eight year career at KCTV, the CBS affiliate in Kansas City, where she worked as a Local Sales Manager.  During her tenure at KCTV, she worked on the KCTV Midwest Living Idea Home.  This project became the genesis of TLConcepts, LLC.  As the station point person for this project, Tamra realized the need for an outside party to help with the coordination and sales effort.  The combination of Tamra's passion for television and John's passion for building came together to form TLConcepts, LLC. in June of 2003.
